How Does a Sodium Hypochlorite Generator Machine Work?
The machine operates on electrolysis technology, with two mainstream configurations to fit different industry needs - both designed for simplicity and low maintenance:
1. Salt Water Electrolysis (Most Common)
Raw Materials: Tap water + industrial salt (sodium chloride, NaCl) - easy to source and affordable.
Process: When electricity passes through the brine solution (water + salt), the electrolytic cell splits NaCl into sodium ions (Na⁺) and chloride ions (Cl⁻). At the anode, Cl⁻ forms chlorine gas (Cl₂); at the cathode, Na⁺ reacts with water to produce sodium hydroxide (NaOH). These two substances combine to create sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), with concentration adjustable (4–80mg/L available chlorine) via salt input and electrolysis time.
2. Hydrochloric Acid Electrolysis (For Mild Disinfection)
Raw Materials: Dilute hydrochloric acid (HCl) - ideal for scenarios requiring low-irritation disinfection.
Process: Uses a diaphragm-free cell to convert HCl into slightly acidic hypochlorous acid (HClO, pH 5.0–6.5), safe for skin and food contact without corroding equipment.
