Product details
Core Functionality
Electrolysis Process:
The system electrolyzes a dilute brine solution (3-4% saltwater) to produce sodium hypochlorite. The reaction occurs in an electrolytic cell with titanium electrodes coated in precious metals like ruthenium and iridium .
Anode: Chloride ions (Cl⁻) oxidize to form chlorine gas (Cl₂).
Cathode: Water molecules break down into hydrogen gas (H₂) and hydroxide ions (OH⁻).
Final Reaction: Chlorine gas reacts with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to form sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), sodium chloride (NaCl), and water .
Output:
Generates 6,000–9,000 ppm sodium hypochlorite solution, ideal for disinfection . The concentration can be adjusted based on application needs.
