Name: Nitric Acid Production Line
Source: Using liquid ammonia NH₃ as raw material, NO is generated through catalytic oxidation with platinum‑rhodium catalyst, which is further oxidized to NO₂. Dilute nitric acid is produced by absorbing nitrogen dioxide with water.
Product Specifications
1. Dilute Nitric Acid (68% Industrial Nitric Acid): Mainstream industrial product, used for manufacturing ammonium nitrate, nitro‑chemicals and chemical fertilizers.
2. Concentrated Nitric Acid (98%): Applied in fine chemicals and nitration reactions.
Main Uses of Nitric Acid
1. Fertilizer Industry: Neutralizes ammonia to produce ammonium nitrate; serves as raw material for nitro compound fertilizers.
2. Chemical Nitration: Intermediates for nitrobenzene, dyes and explosives.
3. Metallurgical pickling and metal polishing.
4. Water treatment and raw material for chemical reagents.
Process Flow of Nitric Acid Production Line
1. Ammonia Oxidation Section: Ammonia gas NH₃ is mixed with oxygen O₂, and undergoes high‑temperature catalytic oxidation over platinum catalyst to produce nitric oxide NO.
2. NO Oxidation: NO is further oxidized into nitrogen dioxide NO₂.
3. Acid Production by Absorption: NO₂ reacts with water H₂O via absorption to form dilute nitric acid HNO₃; tail gas is denitrified before discharge.
4. Nitric Acid Concentration (Optional): Dilute nitric acid is rectified and concentrated to obtain 98% concentrated nitric acid product.

• Adopts the classic dual‑pressure nitric acid process, which is mainstream in industry;
• A standalone nitric acid unit can be constructed, or a combined nitric acid‑ammonium nitrate plant can be built;
