Name: Calcium Hypochlorite Production Line
Source: Chlorine gas (Cl₂) produced by chlor‑alkali unit. Chlorine gas reacts with calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂) and a small amount of caustic soda (NaOH) to produce high‑grade bleaching powder concentrate‑calcium hypochlorite.
Main Applications of Calcium Hypochlorite
1. Water treatment: disinfection of drinking water, municipal sewage, and sterilization & disinfection of swimming pool water;
2. Epidemic prevention and disinfection: disinfection of environments and public places;
3. Textile and papermaking: bleaching of cotton and linen fabrics, pulp bleaching;
4. Aquaculture: water sterilization and purification;
5. Chemical industry: raw material for oxidizing agents.
Process Flow of Calcium Hypochlorite Production Line
1. Raw material supply: chlorine gas (Cl₂) from the chlor‑alkali electrolysis section; calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), supplemented by a small amount of caustic soda (NaOH);
2. Chlorination reaction: Chlorine gas is fed into the lime slurry system and undergoes chlorination reaction with calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide to generate calcium hypochlorite;
3. Crystallization reaction and solid‑liquid separation: The reaction slurry is filtered / centrifuged to separate the mother liquor;
4. Drying: The filter cake is dried at low temperature to obtain solid bleaching powder concentrate;
5. Sieving and packaging: Granule / powder classification, and sealed packaging of finished products.
Process Characteristics of Calcium Hypochlorite Production Line
1. Downstream deep‑processing utilizing chlorine resources from chlor‑alkali plants;
2. Highly oxidative and corrosive media requiring high anti‑corrosion grade for equipment;
3. Alkaline liquid absorption unit must be equipped for tail gas to treat residual chlorine gas;
4. The product is prone to decomposition, so finished products shall be packed in moisture‑proof sealed packages.
