Name: Liquid Chlorine Production Line
Source: Brine (NaCl) and water undergo ion‑membrane electrolysis to produce chlorine gas (Cl₂). The chlorine gas is purified, dried, compressed and liquefied to obtain finished liquid chlorine.
Main Uses of Liquid Chlorine
1. Water treatment disinfection: sterilization and disinfection for tap water and sewage plants;
2. Chemical raw material (the largest application): production of sodium hypochlorite, high‑test hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid and various chlorine‑based chemical intermediates;
3. Papermaking industry: pulp bleaching;
4. Metallurgy: non‑ferrous metal smelting;
5. Textile industry: fabric bleaching.
Process Flow of Liquid Chlorine Production Line
1. Electrolysis for gas generation: Brine (NaCl+H₂O) is electrolyzed via ion‑membrane to produce crude chlorine gas;
2. Chlorine gas purification and drying: Remove salt mist and moisture impurities (moisture will cause severe equipment corrosion);
3. Compression and liquefaction: Chlorine gas is pressurized by compressors, cooled and condensed, turning gaseous chlorine into liquid chlorine;
4. Filling and warehousing: Liquid chlorine is filled into special high‑pressure liquid chlorine cylinders / storage tanks for storage and transportation.
Key Process Points: The water content of chlorine gas must be strictly controlled; the whole set of equipment shall resist strong corrosion; a supporting tail‑gas treatment system shall be equipped to prevent chlorine gas leakage; the safety interlock system serves as the core.
