Name: Hydrochloric Acid Production Line
Source: Chlorine (Cl₂) and hydrogen (H₂) produced by chlor‑alkali electrolysis. Industrial hydrochloric acid is prepared through a three‑in‑one synthesis reaction of hydrogen, chlorine and water.
Process Route: H₂/Cl₂/H₂O three‑in‑one synthesis furnace process (flow‑chart process). Hydrogen burns in chlorine inside the synthesis furnace to produce hydrogen chloride gas, which is absorbed by water to obtain finished hydrochloric acid.
Main Uses of Hydrochloric Acid
1. Metallurgical Industry: Pickling and rust removal of metals; surface cleaning of steel and aluminum materials;
2. Water Treatment: Water pH adjustment and regeneration of ion‑exchange resins;
3. Chemical Synthesis: Production of salt‑based chemicals such as calcium chloride, polyaluminum chloride (PAC) and ammonium chloride (matching downstream processes in the flow chart);
4. Mining: Ore leaching;
5. Construction: Removal of limescale and dirt from building materials.
Complete Process Flow of the Hydrochloric Acid Production Line
1. Raw Material Supply: Hydrogen (H₂) and chlorine (Cl₂) output from the chlor‑alkali electrolysis unit;
2. Synthesis and Combustion: Hydrogen and chlorine are fed into the three‑in‑one synthesis furnace for combustion reaction to generate hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas;
3. Water Absorption: Hydrogen chloride gas is directly absorbed by water inside the furnace to produce finished industrial hydrochloric acid in one step;
4. Tail‑gas Treatment: Residual trace hydrogen chloride tail gas is washed and absorbed for discharge up to standard;
5. Storage and Transportation: Hydrochloric acid flows into anti‑corrosion storage tanks and is filled into tank trucks for external sales.
Process Characteristics of the Hydrochloric Acid Production Line
1. Three‑in‑one synthesis furnace process: Combustion, cooling and absorption are integrated into one single piece of equipment, featuring short process flow and low investment;
2. Equipment must adopt strongly corrosion‑resistant materials such as graphite;
3. Strict control over hydrogen‑chlorine ratio with high safety production requirements;
4. Supported by supporting chlor‑alkali plants, by‑product hydrogen and chlorine from electrolysis are utilized for low raw‑material costs;
5. Available as an independent EPC turn‑key project or as a supporting section within the chlor‑alkali industrial chain.
