Name: Lithium Carbonate Production Line
Source: Lithium sulfate solution is obtained by acid‑leaching spodumene with concentrated sulfuric acid, followed by precipitation with soda ash to produce lithium carbonate
Capacity: 0.5‑30 thousand tons per year EPC turnkey complete plant

 

Complete Process Flow of Lithium Carbonate Production Line
Raw Materials: Spodumene concentrate, concentrated sulfuric acid (produced by pyrite‑based acid‑making unit), soda ash
1. Spodumene Crystal Form Roasting Transformation: α‑spodumene is fed into a rotary kiln for high‑temperature roasting and converted into β‑spodumene, followed by cooling and ball‑milling crushing.
2. Sulfuric Acid Acidification Roasting: Finely ground spodumene powder is mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid for acidification roasting, converting lithium elements into lithium sulfate.
3. Water Leaching and Solid‑Liquid Separation: Water is added for leaching; lithium sulfate dissolves into the liquid phase, and filter pressing is performed to remove mineral residues.
4. Solution Purification and Impurity Removal: Alkali agents are added to remove heavy‑metal impurities such as calcium, magnesium, iron and aluminum. Precision filtration yields purified lithium sulfate solution.
5. Soda Ash Precipitation Reaction: Soda ash solution is added into the purified lithium sulfate solution, and metathesis reaction precipitates crude lithium carbonate.
6. Crude Product Washing and Refining: Multiple water‑washing cycles are applied to crude lithium carbonate to remove sodium ions and sulfate impurities. For battery‑grade production, a deep‑purification recrystallization process is added.
7. Centrifugal Dehydration, Vacuum Drying and Airflow Screening to obtain high‑purity lithium carbonate powder.
8. Sealed packaging; mother liquor is recovered for recycling, and waste residues and wastewater are treated with supporting environmental‑protection facilities.

 

Characteristics of the Lithium Carbonate Production Line
1. Can be matched with pyrite‑based sulfuric acid production units to supply concentrated sulfuric acid on‑site, significantly cutting raw material transportation costs;
2. Flexible production of the unit: capable of producing industrial‑grade lithium carbonate. A recrystallization section can be added to upgrade production to battery‑grade lithium carbonate for lithium‑ion batteries;
3. Mature hard‑rock lithium ore process package, complete EPC turn‑key solution: process package, equipment manufacturing, installation and commissioning, personnel training; suitable for overseas lithium ore new‑energy projects.

 

Uses of Lithium Carbonate Products
1. New‑energy lithium batteries (core use‑battery‑grade): Key raw material for manufacturing lithium iron phosphate, ternary cathode materials and lithium‑battery precursors;
2. Ceramic and glass industry (industrial‑grade): Used for glass‑ceramics, heat‑resistant glass and fluxing of ceramic glazes;
3. Chemical industry: Production of lithium salts such as lithium hydroxide and lithium bromide;
4. Metallurgical industry: Flux for aluminium electrolysis.
