Process Logic: Sulfur is melted and combusted to produce SO₂, which undergoes catalytic oxidation to convert into sulfur trioxide SO₃. Liquid dodecylbenzene and gaseous SO₃ enter a film sulfonation reactor for sulfonation reaction to generate linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LAS). This is a complete EPC plant for core detergent intermediates.

Complete Process Route of Dodecylbenzenesulfonic Acid (LAS) Production Line
1. Sulfur Combustion Process: Liquid sulfur (S) burns with oxygen (O₂) to produce sulfur dioxide (SO₂);
2. Catalytic Conversion Process: SO₂ is further oxidized under the action of catalyst to generate sulfur trioxide (SO₃);
3. Sulfonation Reaction Process: Feedstock linear alkylbenzene (LAB) and gaseous SO₃ enter the film‑type sulfonation reactor for sulfonation reaction;
4. Crude dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (LAS) is obtained from reaction discharge, and finished dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (LAS) is produced after aging, hydrolysis and degassing.
Process Characteristics of Dodecylbenzenesulfonic Acid (LAS) Production Line
1. Sulfur combustion for SO₃ production combined with film‑type sulfonation process, which is the mainstream and mature LAS production technology;
2. Gaseous SO₃ reacts in contact with liquid film of dodecylbenzene, featuring fast reaction rate and stable product quality;
3. The whole system faces strong corrosion and high‑temperature conditions, which imposes high requirements on equipment materials;
4. Tail gas contains acidic gases, so a complete tail‑gas neutralization treatment unit must be equipped;
5. Complete process package, equipment supply and full‑set EPC turn‑key projects are available.
