Complete Process Flow of Lithium Carbonate Production Line
Raw Materials: Spodumene concentrate, concentrated sulfuric acid, soda ash Na₂CO₃ (produced by the combined soda plant)
Core Reaction: Lithium sulfate solution + soda ash → lithium carbonate precipitate + sodium sulfate
1. Spodumene Roasting Transformation: α‑spodumene is converted into β‑spodumene by high‑temperature roasting, followed by crushing and grinding;
2. Sulfuric Acid Acidification Roasting: Finely ground spodumene is mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid for high‑temperature acidification, and lithium is converted into lithium sulfate;
3. Water Leaching: Water is added for leaching; lithium sulfate dissolves into the liquid phase, and solid‑liquid separation is performed to remove mineral residues;
4. Purification and Impurity Removal: Alkali is added to remove heavy‑metal impurities including calcium, magnesium, iron and aluminium, and filtration yields purified lithium sulfate solution;
5. Soda Ash Precipitation Reaction: Soda ash solution is added into the purified lithium sulfate solution, and a double‑decomposition reaction occurs to precipitate crude lithium carbonate;
6. Recrystallization Purification (Key Process for Battery‑Grade Product): The crude lithium carbonate is washed with water and undergoes multiple redissolution‑recrystallization cycles for deep impurity removal to meet battery‑grade impurity specifications;
7. Centrifugation, Drying and Sieving: High‑purity lithium carbonate powder is obtained and packaged as finished products;
8. Sodium sulfate is produced as a by‑product, and the mother liquor is recycled for reuse.
Characteristics of Lithium Carbonate Production Line
1. It can directly consume soda ash produced by the combined‑soda plant, cutting raw material procurement costs;
2. It flexibly produces industrial‑grade lithium carbonate, and a recrystallization section can be added to upgrade production to battery‑grade lithium carbonate;
