Name: Calcium Sulfate Production Line
Source: Wet‑process phosphoric acid is produced by the reaction of concentrated sulfuric acid and phosphate ore, with calcium sulfate (phosphogypsum) generated as a by‑product. It is processed into building‑material‑grade calcium sulfate series building products through water washing, impurity removal and calcination.
Capacity: 5‑50 ten thousand tons per year

Complete Process Flow of Calcium Sulfate Production Line
Upstream Process: Phosphate rock reacts with concentrated sulfuric acid to produce wet‑process phosphoric acid, followed by filtration and separation. The filtrate is phosphoric acid, and the filter cake is crude phosphogypsum.
1. Water‑washing Purification of Crude Phosphogypsum: Crude phosphogypsum is fed into a disc filter for multi‑stage water washing to remove free phosphoric acid, fluoride salts and soluble impurities.
2. Solid‑liquid Separation: Vacuum filtration and dehydration are performed to obtain purified dihydrate calcium sulfate. Part of it is directly used as finished cement retarder.
3. Calcination Section (for producing building gypsum powder): Purified dihydrate phosphogypsum is fed into a gypsum calciner, heated to remove crystal water and converted into hemihydrate calcium sulfate (building gypsum powder).
4. Grinding and Homogenization: The calcined material is cooled, ground and homogenized.
5. Finished Product Screening and Packaging: Cement retarder can be delivered in bulk; building gypsum powder is packed in ton bags / woven bags.
6. Wastewater Treatment: The water‑washing filtrate is recovered and returned to the phosphoric acid system to realize water circulation.

Characteristics of Calcium Sulfate Production Line
1. It utilizes phosphogypsum, a by‑product of the wet‑process phosphoric acid plant, featuring low raw‑material costs and easing the environmental pressure from solid waste;
2. Flexible configuration: only purification to produce cement retarders; additional calcination to yield high‑value‑added building gypsum powder;
3. The water‑washing filtrate is returned to the main phosphoric‑acid process, achieving a high water recycling rate;
4. EPC turn‑key solution: process package, complete equipment supply, installation and commissioning, and personnel training, suitable for overseas phosphorus‑chemical supporting solid‑waste resource‑utilization projects.

Uses of Calcium Sulfate Products
1. Cement Industry: Purified dihydrate phosphogypsum is directly used as a cement retarder (the largest consumption direction);
2. New Building Materials: Hemihydrate building gypsum is applied to gypsum wallboards, gypsum blocks, gypsum strip boards, plastering gypsum, gypsum mortar and gypsum moulds;
3. Soil Improvement: Used for saline‑alkali land improvement after qualified treatment;
4. Subgrade Filler: Road subgrade material.
