Name: Solid Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide Flakes) Production Line
Source: 32% liquid caustic soda is produced by the electrolysis of sodium chloride (NaCl) brine and water. It is evaporated and concentrated to obtain 50% liquid caustic soda, and then subjected to falling‑film evaporation, melt granulation / flaking processes to produce solid caustic soda (NaOH).
Production Process: Ion‑membrane electrolysis process. 32% liquid caustic soda → evaporative concentration to 50% liquid caustic soda → high‑temperature melt evaporation to remove all moisture → flaking / granulation for forming solid caustic soda.
Main Uses of Solid Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide Flakes)
1. Chemical Industry: Sodium salt synthesis, organic chemical production, saponification reactions;
2. Metallurgical Industry: Alumina smelting, metal cleaning;

1. Electrolysis for 32% Liquid Caustic Soda: Brine ion‑membrane electrolysis to produce 32%‑concentration sodium hydroxide aqueous solution;
2. Primary Evaporative Concentration: Evaporate 32% liquid caustic soda to concentrate it into 50% liquid caustic soda;
3. Melt Evaporation: Feed 50% liquid caustic soda into the solid caustic soda evaporation unit, remove moisture under high temperature to obtain pure molten NaOH;
4. Forming and Cooling: Molten caustic soda is flaked by a flaker or granulated in a granulation tower, then cooled and shaped;
5. Packaging and Warehousing: Hermetic packaging and moisture‑proof storage.
Process Characteristics of Solid Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide Flakes) Production Line
1. Built upon chlor‑alkali ion‑membrane electrolysis equipment; the solid caustic soda unit serves as the downstream concentration and forming section;
2. High‑temperature and strong‑alkali working conditions require special nickel‑based anti‑corrosion materials for equipment;
3. The product is highly hygroscopic; moisture must be strictly isolated during production, packaging and warehousing;
4. Full‑set EPC turn‑key solutions are available; retrofitting of only the downstream solid‑caustic‑soda concentration and forming unit is also feasible.
