Source: Chlorine (Cl₂) and caustic soda (NaOH) are produced by ion‑exchange membrane electrolysis of brine. Chlorine reacts directly with sodium hydroxide solution to produce finished sodium hypochlorite solution.

Process Flow of Sodium Hypochlorite Production Line
Brine (NaCl+H₂O) undergoes ion‑exchange membrane electrolysis to generate chlorine (Cl₂) and caustic soda (NaOH);
Chlorine gas is fed into a sodium hydroxide lye reactor for the reaction: Cl₂+2NaOH=NaCl+NaClO+H₂O;
The reaction mass is cooled to obtain finished sodium hypochlorite solution;
The solution undergoes sedimentation and filtration, then stored in storage tanks, and finally delivered by tank truck or filled into plastic drums for shipment.

Industrial‑grade sodium hypochlorite: available chlorine 10%‑13%, applied for water treatment and bleaching;
Disinfection‑grade sodium hypochlorite: available chlorine 5%‑6%, used as raw material for disinfectants.
