Name: Hydrochloric Acid Production Line Equipment
Process Logic: Potassium chloride (KCl) and water are fed into an ion‑exchange membrane electrolyzer. Electrolysis produces 32% potassium hydroxide, chlorine gas and hydrogen gas. KOH is concentrated and flaked to obtain liquid/solid potassium hydroxide. Chlorine gas can be processed into sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite and liquid chlorine. Hydrogen gas and chlorine gas are synthesized into hydrochloric acid in a three‑in‑one synthesis furnace. The complete system is a combined chlorine‑potassium alkali unit.
Main Applications of Hydrochloric Acid
1. Metallurgical Industry: Metal pickling, steel rust removal; leaching of rare‑earth ores;
2. Chemical Industry: Production of chlorides and various chlorine salts, raw materials for organic synthesis; pH adjustment;
3. Water Treatment: pH adjustment for wastewater treatment; regeneration of ion‑exchange resins;
4. Mining Industry: Ore leaching;
5. Food‑grade (after purification): Food processing, raw material for condiments.
Process Characteristics of Hydrochloric Acid Production Line
1. Combined potassium chloride ion‑exchange membrane electrolysis unit. One single unit co‑produces multiple products including KOH, hydrochloric acid, liquid chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and calcium hypochlorite;
2. Hydrochloric acid adopts three‑in‑one synthesis furnace process with integrated synthesis‑cooling‑absorption, featuring short process flow and high product purity;
3. Hydrogen and chlorine are electrolysis by‑products, which are used for on‑site hydrochloric acid synthesis. It properly consumes chlorine‑hydrogen tail gas and improves project economy;
4. The whole project is available as EPC turnkey contracting, covering complete facilities for electrolysis, KOH concentration, deep chlorine processing and hydrochloric acid synthesis;
5. Due to strongly corrosive media, equipment shall adopt anti‑corrosion materials, and high requirements are imposed on safety interlocks.
