Process Logic: Potassium chloride is electrolyzed via ion‑exchange membrane to produce chlorine gas and hydrogen gas. Hydrogen and chlorine gas are fed into a three‑in‑one synthesis furnace to generate hydrochloric acid. Hydrochloric acid reacts with ammonia gas NH₃ to synthesize ammonium chloride. This unit is a downstream supporting process for the combined potash‑chlor‑alkali system and can be delivered as an integrated EPC lump‑sum contract together with the KCl electrolysis unit.
Main Applications of Ammonium Chloride
1. Agricultural Fertilizer: Raw material for nitrogen fertilizer, suitable for crops such as wheat and rice; use with caution for chlorine‑sensitive crops.
2. Industrial Sector: Raw material for batteries and dry‑cell batteries; electroplating solution; flux for metal welding.
3. Chemical Industry: Preparation of various ammonium salts; printing and dyeing auxiliaries.

Process Characteristics of the Ammonium Chloride Production Line
1. Supporting process for combined chlor‑alkali system: By‑product chlorine and hydrogen from electrolysis are utilized to synthesize hydrochloric acid, which further reacts with ammonia gas to produce ammonium chloride, fully consuming the plant’s by‑products.
2. Hydrochloric acid‑ammonia neutralization synthesis route with simple process flow and high product purity.
3. The complete plant can be supplied as an integrated EPC turn‑key project, with lump‑sum delivery covering upstream KCl electrolysis unit, hydrochloric acid unit and ammonium chloride unit.
4. Process media are corrosive, so equipment shall adopt anti‑corrosion materials. Ammonia gas is a hazardous chemical, requiring high‑standard safety interlock systems.
