Name: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Production Line Equipment
Process Logic: Potassium chloride (KCl) undergoes ion‑membrane electrolysis with water to produce chlorine and hydrogen gas; hydrogen and chlorine are combined in a one‑step synthesis to generate anhydrous hydrogen chloride gas; calcium carbide (CaC₂) reacts with water to yield acetylene; hydrogen chloride undergoes an addition reaction with acetylene to obtain vinyl chloride monomer (VCM); VCM monomer is polymerized to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. The complete facility is a large‑scale EPC chemical plant for co‑production of chlorine and potassium alkali.
Main Applications of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
Rigid Products: Water supply and drainage pipes and fittings, door and window profiles, plastic sheets, chemical anti‑corrosion pipes and fittings;
Flexible Products: Films, artificial leather, wire and cable sheaths, flexible hoses;
Others: Plastic toys, anti‑corrosion coatings, composite building materials.
Process Features of PVC Production Line
Complete full‑process PVC production via calcium carbide‑acetylene route: integrated EPC turn‑key project covering potassium chloride electrolysis → acetylene production → VCM synthesis → PVC resin manufacturing;
Joint construction of chlorine‑potassium alkali unit and PVC plant. Chlorine and hydrogen from electrolysis are directly supplied for VCM‑PVC production, realizing on‑site material consumption and cutting transportation costs;
Multi‑product co‑production with simultaneous output of potassium alkali, chlorine‑based products and hydrochlorate salts to enhance the project’s risk‑resistant capacity;
As VCM is a toxic hazardous chemical, it is polymerized into PVC directly within the plant to mitigate risks associated with VCM storage and transportation;
The process imposes high requirements for explosion‑proof protection, recovery of toxic media, and three‑waste treatment;
General contracting services are available, including full‑set process package supply, equipment delivery, installation and commissioning, and start‑up guidance.
