Description of Sodium Silicate
There are two processes for sodium silicate production. The first one is reaction in liquidphase; the second one is reaction in solid phase. However, alkaline and quartz sandarethe same raw materials used in the two processes.
Uses of Sodium Silicate
We are experienced and have developed latest technology and machinery for sodiumsilicate production which is widely used in construction ,textile ,daily chemical and other industries.
Description of Liquid Phase
1. Process reaction in liquid phase: Caustic soda, quartz sand and water are mixed in mixing tank, then the mixture is fedinto a reactor, where steam is introduced. The reactant is liquid sodiumsilicate withitsmodule lower than 3. The reaction is as following:
nSiO2+2NaOH ------------Na2O·nSiO2+H2O
USAGE
Produce liquid sodium silicate , with the ratio 1.8-2.6, with the solution 40°Bé.
Description of Solid Phase
2. Process reaction in solid phase (thermal process) The feed materials in this process are sodium carbonate and quartz sand, or sodiumsulfate and quartz sand. The feed materials are heated in a reflection furnace. Thereaction is as following:
Na2CO3 +XSiO2 → (Na2O)•(SiO2)X + CO2
4Na2SO4 +2C +4SiO2 → 4Na2SiO3 +4SO2 +2CO2
The sodium silicate produced by this thermal process has the modules dependingonrequirements of different applications.
USAGE
Produce solid sodium silicate , with the ratio 1.9-3.5, with block form.
